Jamaica Red Cross Warehouse

This project proposes a purpose-built warehouse and operations centre for the Jamaica Red Cross in St. Ann’s Bay, conceived as a scalable, climate-resilient logistics hub supporting post–Hurricane Melissa recovery and long-term regional preparedness. The design integrates high-volume storage, training, and coordination spaces within a robust structural framework capable of phased expansion as funding becomes available.

  • Location: St. Ann’s Bay, St. Ann, Jamaica

  • Project type: Commissioned Humanitarian infrastructure / warehouse + operations centre

  • Client: Jamaica Red Cross (for submission to IFRC & Red Crescent Donor Network)

  • Role: Architectural designer; strategic planning and funding support

  • Scope: Site analysis, architectural concept design, phasing strategies, cost benchmarking, donor-aligned development options

  • Status: Ongoing (preliminary design)

  • Why it mattered: Developed in response to Hurricane Melissa, the project demonstrates how cost-effective, locally delivered architecture can strengthen national disaster preparedness while aligning with IFRC global logistics models and funding mechanisms.
